Proper maintenance is key to extending the life of your concrete coating. Whether you have epoxy, polyaspartic, or polyurethane coating, following the right cleaning procedures will keep your floor looking great for years.

Daily Cleaning

Sweep or dust mop daily to remove loose dirt and debris. This prevents scratching from grit being ground into the surface by foot traffic. For commercial spaces with heavy foot traffic, consider using a walk-behind dust mop for efficiency.

Weekly Cleaning

Mop with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral cleaner weekly. Avoid harsh chemicals, acidic cleaners, or abrasive cleaning tools that could damage the coating. A microfiber mop works best, as it picks up fine particles without scratching the surface.

Spill Management

Clean up spills promptly to prevent staining. While epoxy coatings are highly chemical resistant, prolonged exposure to certain chemicals can cause discoloration. For oil-based spills, use a degreaser approved for use on epoxy surfaces. Wipe the area dry after cleaning to prevent water spots.

Periodic Maintenance

Every few months, inspect the coating for any signs of wear, chipping, or peeling. Address minor issues early before they become major problems requiring professional repair. Consider applying a fresh topcoat every 3–5 years in high-traffic areas to maintain optimal appearance and protection.
